Bowling Green Signs With B2 Networks

Falcons Athletics Available Worldwide Through Multi-Year Partnership

Bowling Green, OH.

  -  The Bowling Green State University athletic department and Falcon Sports Properties have reached an agreement with B2 Networks to stream live video of home athletic events beginning with the 2009-10 season.

"Our partnership with B2 Networks helps take BGSU Athletics to a whole new level in regards to the opportunity to showcase our student-athletes," Cal Bowers, General Manager of Falcon Sports Properties, said. "For us to have a national platform certainly gives our coaches and teams an advantage in the ever-increasing competitive world of recruiting as well. B2 Networks allows us to take advantage of an emerging technology that is accessible to a vast array of individuals."

Bowling Green fans will be able to purchase games on an individual basis or pay for a season pass to view broadband broadcasts via their computer. Feeds will come directly from the Buckeye Cable Sports Network (BCSN) broadcasts of the games and will be available for all home games not televised nationally in the sports of football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and hockey. As well, a season pass will allow broadcast access to all road games BGSU plays in which the home team is a B2 Networks partner. For hockey, that will prove especially beneficial as a handful of conference opponents broadcast via the B2 Networks.

"B2 Networks thanks the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department and Falcon Sports Properties for choosing our company to bring Falcon events to their numerous fans around the world," said Bruce LeVine, B2 Networks Senior Vice President. "Bowling Green's lineup of sports with MAC events and CCHA hockey fits perfectly into our college lineup and we look forward to creating a new viewing experience for all BGSU fans."

Along with broadband broadcasting, Bowling Green and B2 Networks will also launch a broadband station that will show replays of BGSU athletic events 24 hours a day. The station is planned for launch later in the athletic year and will be free for all viewers.

"This partnership with B2 Networks is a great way for us to get our product out on a national scale," Jason Knavel, Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications, said. "BCSN has been extremely helpful and we’re excited to partner with them in this venue."
